Everyone dreams of a magical, romantic wedding day – what could be more magical than tying the knot in beautiful Cappadocia…with dramatic fairy chimneys as your backdrop – or in an ancient cave church surrounded by candles and flowers? Whether you are getting married officially or renewing your vows, we can organize all the details for your special day as well as the travel itineraries for your entire guest list.
We specialize in wedding planning in Cappadocia and can handle all the details from legal documentation, selecting the perfect venue to the henna party for the bride and Turkish hamam experience for the groom. You can have the wedding of your dreams without the stress of organizing these details from your home country. We are experienced in handling all details – big and small – to ensure your day is one to remember for a lifetime.
We offer many styles of weddings and will work with you to create the wedding of your dreams. To get you started, below are some details of the weddings we’ve organized – please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or other ideas in mind.
We have a lovely restored cave house on the hillside in the picturesque old part of Goreme village. This lovely setting of hotel rooms, complete with a beautiful rose garden and views over the Aktepe rock plateau offer an intimate grouping of rooms for your wedding guests. We also have beautiful suites available for the bride and groom in our adjoining cave hotel.
We can also arrange a three-day celebration, similar to the traditional Turkish wedding, complete with henna night in a traditional local village for the bride and females of the party - and the barber, hamam (Turkish bath) experience for the groom and accompanying males.
The Henna Night takes place in a traditional Turkish village with women singing and dancing together. The bride and any other females can choose to have their hands decorated with henna – which lasts about one week. At the same time, the men are whisked away to the barber for a traditional shave then to the hamam where they are thoroughly scrubbed and massaged – relaxed and ready for the wedding day.
We can also arrange to have your wedding in a hot air balloon gently floating above and through fairy chimneys and the spectacular landscapes around Goreme. We also offer romantic, candle-lit ceremonies in medieval cave churches or in the local valleys surrounded by orchards, vineyards and fairy chimneys. The beautiful and fragrant rose garden at the Kelebek Hotel offers a wonderful place for your ceremony or reception complete with local musicians and of course, the amazing valley and plateau as your backdrop.
We can even arrange traditional Ottoman-style wedding clothes for you if you would like. Throughout the three days local musicians will be on hand to serenade the happy couple, friends and family.

HOW TO GET MARRIED IN TURKEY?
Turkish Heritage Travel will not only organize an unforgettable wedding ceremony, but also assist you with all the legal issues. Turkey is a secular country performs civil wedding ceremonies with international wedding certificates. The documentation required before your wedding is:
- Certificate from your home country (or embassy if you are already in Turkey) attesting that you are able to get married. A marriage certificate is also accepted for this purpose.
- Personal Identification (passport and birth certificate)
- ID photos of the bride and the groom, 5 copies of each
We can organize the marriage petition, the blood tests and health reports and get all the necessary signatures required before the ceremony.
The costs of organizing a destination wedding in Cappadocia varies greatly depending on your wishes and travel itinerary. Some of the costs for marriage ceremonies are explained below – we can of course also tailor-make your ceremony.
Legal Consultation
The Legal Consultation fee covers the all steps of the bureaucratic process from the applications to the marriage certificates. Some of these steps are translation services, legalization services, applications to the municipality, marriage officer fee, health reports and in-city transportation (Ankara is the local municipality residing over Cappadocia). The Legal Consultation rate is 1200 USD.
Turkish Wedding
Classic Turkish Wedding package includes the legal consultation as well as:
- All transfers
- 3 nights, 2 rooms accommodation in a special wedding house or honeymoon suite
- Tours of the highlights of Cappadocia
- Hairdresser for bride
- Flowers and bridal bouquet
- Main wedding reception with dinner and wedding cake
- Live music and local wine in the beautiful rose garden with spectacular valley views
- Professional Photographer, including 50 printed photos and more on CDs
- Video recording on VHS, VCD or DVD
- Traditional drive around the village in a decorated 1968 Chevrolet or horse-drawn carriage
Traditional Turkish Wedding
The Traditional Turkish Wedding package includes the legal consultation as well as:
- All transfers
- 3 nights for 5 rooms accommodation in a special wedding house or cave suites
- Tours of the highlights of Cappadocia
- Hairdresser for bride
- Flowers and bridal bouquet
- Henna night celebration in a traditional village in the company of local musicians and village women
- Traditional henna night dress for bride
- Barber and Turkish bath for groom
- Wedding reception with dinner and wedding cake
- Live music and local wine in a beautiful rose garden with spectacular valley views
- Professional Photographer, including 50 printed photos and more on CDs
